Jennifer Eccles is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Environment at the University of Auckland. She completed a BSc in Geology and Applied Geophysics at the University of Auckland between 1998 and 2001, followed by an MSc with First Class Honours in Geology at the same institution. She later obtained a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
Her research interests centre on marine seismics, converted shear waves, faults, seismology, seismotectonics, tectonics, geophysics, geodynamics, earthquake geology and applied geophysics. Eccles contributes to teaching in the School of Environment, including courses such as Faults and Fluids. She has served as Immediate Past President of the Geoscience Society of New Zealand.
