About Jessie

Jessie Jacobsen is an Associate Professor in the School of Biological Sciences and the Centre for Brain Research at the University of Auckland. Her research focuses on the genetics underlying neurodevelopmental disorders, with a particular emphasis on autism spectrum conditions. She directs the Autism Research Clinic, where her team provides genetic diagnoses for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Jacobsen has received recognition including the MacDiarmid Young Scientist of the Year award in 2007 and the University of Auckland Young Alumna of the Year award. She contributes to teaching in molecular and cellular regulation and supervises research in genome biology and inherited diseases.
