Rate My Professor Joshua Lanham

Joshua Lanham is a postdoctoral researcher in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. His work centers on physical oceanography and climate science, with a focus on Southern Ocean and Atlantic water-mass dynamics, including Antarctic Bottom Water, Circumpolar Deep Water variability, and processes near the Antarctic Peninsula. He employs observations from programs such as GO-SHIP, GLODAP, and Argo, along with inverse methods, machine learning for water-mass classification, and high-resolution models like ECCO and MITgcm.

Lanham earned a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of Cambridge (Darwin College), an MSc in Applied Meteorology from the University of Reading, and a BA in Geography (First Class) from the University of Oxford (Mansfield College).
