Jung Ki Kim is a Research Associate Professor of Gerontology at the University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. She earned a PhD in Gerontology/Public Policy from the University of Southern California in 2000. She also received a Master of Social Work and a Master of Science in Gerontology, both from the University of Southern California in 1999. Her dissertation examined the effect of marital status on health outcomes among older people, including how different marital statuses, changes in marital status, duration of widowhood, and living arrangements affect health outcomes.
She has conducted research on health and health-related issues using large national datasets. Her research interests include socioeconomic status and biological risk, social support and health among older people, and cross-country comparisons of health status. Expertise areas include big data, global aging, and social determinants and disparities.
