Juntaro Matsuzaki is Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy at Keio University, with concurrent appointment as Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Internal Medicine at Keio University School of Medicine, and Affiliated PI at the Human Biology-Microbiome-Quantum Research Center (Bio2Q). He earned his PhD in Medicine from Keio University in 2013. His research focuses on molecular tumor biology and gastroenterology, with particular emphasis on cancer diagnostics and therapeutics using microRNA and extracellular RNA.
Matsuzaki has authored or co-authored numerous publications on topics including circulating microRNA classifiers for digestive cancers, extracellular vesicles in liver microenvironments and fibrosis, and guidelines for Helicobacter pylori management. He has contributed to books such as "疾患バイオマーカーとしてのマイクロRNAと診断応用" (2022) and chapters in technology roadmaps on early cancer detection (2019 and 2023). His work includes presentations on extracellular vesicle biomarkers and frontiers in next-generation cancer testing.
