Rate My Professor Katrina Allen

Professor Katrina Jane Allen, known as Katie Allen, was an Enterprise Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne. She held the position of Director of the Australian Centre of Food and Allergy Research at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. Her academic appointments also included roles at Monash University and the University of Manchester.

Allen completed a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) and MBBS at Monash University, followed by a PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2002. She was a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and worked as a consultant paediatrician. Her research focused on paediatric allergies and food allergy. Allen received the Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) and served as a federal member of parliament for Higgins from 2019 to 2022. She passed away on 23 December 2025.
