Dr Katherine Dodd is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer in the Division of Neuroscience at the University of Manchester and a neurology consultant with a clinical and research interest in Myasthenia Gravis. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Liverpool and completed a PhD at the University of Manchester entitled Optimising the Immunosuppressive Management of Myasthenia Gravis. Her doctoral work examined clinical management of patients with the condition along with lymphocyte subsets and complement biology in individuals with differing disease severity and treatment stages. She has received a Manchester Academic Health Sciences Centre Neuroscience Clinical Fellowship to advance research in Myasthenia Gravis, including biomarker discovery, Cochrane systematic reviews, and clinical projects.

Dr Dodd maintains active research output with publications on topics such as lymphocyte alterations and elevated complement signaling in refractory myasthenia gravis, rituximab for myasthenia gravis, and associations between myasthenia gravis and other neuromuscular conditions. She is a member of the Association of British Neurologists, the British Myology Society, and the British Society for Immunology. Her appointments include roles with Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and contributions to collaborative studies on neurological complications of COVID-19 and other conditions.
