Dr Kerry S Wilson is an Honorary Lecturer in the School of Public Health at the University of the Witwatersrand and a senior epidemiologist in the Epidemiology and Surveillance Section at the National Institute for Occupational Health (NIOH), part of the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) in South Africa. She holds a PhD in Toxicology and Epidemiology from the University of the Witwatersrand. Her research focuses on occupational and environmental health topics including cancer mortality rates, respiratory health, reproductive health outcomes such as time-to-pregnancy, mental health among workers, suicide mortality trends, and the health of informal waste pickers and healthcare workers.
Wilson has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications on these subjects, with work appearing in journals such as the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health and Cancer Epidemiology. She serves as an Academic Editor for PLOS One and has been involved in postgraduate assessment committees at the Wits School of Public Health.
