Dr Lesley Land is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Information Systems and Technology Management at the UNSW Business School. She holds a BSc in Computer Science with Honours from University College London, an MSc in Intelligent Systems from Brunel University, a PhD in Information Systems from the University of New South Wales, and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from the University of New South Wales.
Her research focuses on cybercrimes including identity frauds, romance scams and investment scams, as well as factors affecting the production of quality information systems, usage of organisational information systems, electronic health information systems in aged care, and e-learning in higher education. Dr Land has received the Non-Professorial Research Award from the Faculty of Commerce and Economics at UNSW in 2001 and the Most Influential Paper Award from the Australian Conference on Software Engineering in 2007. She has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters on topics such as software inspections, privacy concerns in social networking, online fraud victimisation, and information systems strategising. Dr Land serves as an accreditation reviewer for higher education degrees in computer science, information systems and information technology for bodies including the National Centre for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation, ABET and the Australian Computer Society. She teaches courses in cybersecurity, risk management in IT and IT/analytics consulting, and supervises PhD students in cybersecurity.
