About Li-Jia

Li-Jia Qu is a Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Peking University. He earned a B.S. degree from Peking University in 1989 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the same institution in 1995. His professional appointments at Peking University include Lecturer from 1995 to 1997, Associate Professor from 1997 to 2001, and Professor since 2001. He served as a Visiting Scholar at the John Innes Centre in the United Kingdom from 1995 to 1996 and as a Senior Visiting Scholar in the MCDB Department at Yale University from 1999 to 2000. Qu has been a Changjiang Scholar at Peking University since 2008. His research focuses on plant reproductive development and molecular genetics. He has held editorial positions including Editor of the Journal of Integrative Plant Biology since 2017, Editor of Science China Life Sciences since 2004, Associate Editor and later Section Editor for Plant Genetics at PLOS Genetics since 2009 and 2021 respectively, Editor of Plant Cell since 2023, and Editor of National Science Review since 2023.

Qu directs the State Key Laboratory of Protein and Plant Gene Research at Peking University. He has received recognitions such as the Excellence Youth Grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2006 and the China Youth Science and Technology Award in 2007. His contributions include extensive publications in plant biology, with significant citation impact in the field. Qu has participated in academic leadership roles and conferences focused on plant reproductive development and genomics.
