Dr Liu Yulu is a Research Fellow at the NUS Centre for International Law in the Faculty of Law at the National University of Singapore. She is a legally trained ocean law and policy researcher specialising in the law of the sea, marine environmental protection, and marine plastic pollution. Yulu completed her PhD at the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security at the University of Wollongong. She has passed the Chinese Bar Exam and now works as a Research Fellow at the Centre for International Law, National University of Singapore.
Her research focuses on the law of the sea, ocean governance, and marine environmental protection. She has participated in panels and discussions on topics including Southeast Asian countries at the INC on plastic pollution, marine plastic pollution governance and research gaps in Southeast Asia, and the development of research inventories mapping marine plastic pollution. Dr Liu Yulu contributes to academic and policy discussions on ocean law and policy at NUS.
