Rate My Professor Louise Cole

Louise Cole is an Associate Professor and Director of the Australian Institute for Microbiology and Infection at the University of Technology Sydney. She is a plant and fungal cell biologist with over three decades of microscopy experience. She earned a Master of Science degree in Plant Cell Biology from the University of Oxford, where her research investigated plant endocytosis, and completed a PhD at Oxford Brookes University in 1996 with a focus on plant pathology and phytopathology. Before her appointment at UTS, she held positions at the University of Sydney, UNSW and Oxford Brookes University.

At UTS she serves as Director of the Australian Institute for Microbiology and Infection and coordinates the Masters subject Advanced Microscopy and Imaging. Her expertise centres on the application of light and electron microscopy techniques to study cellular processes in plants and fungi.
