Dr. M. Ilanchelian serves as Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Bharathiar University. He earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1993, an M.Sc. in Chemistry in 1995, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2004, all from Madurai Kamaraj University. His career at Bharathiar University includes appointments as Assistant Professor from April 2005 to April 2017 and Associate Professor from April 2017 to the present. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Chemistry, Jerusalem University, Israel, from June to October 2003.
Dr. Ilanchelian’s research focuses on biophysical and photophysical chemistry, photoelectrochemistry, and the synthesis of metal, carbon, and semiconductor nano-composite materials. He teaches courses including Physical Chemistry I, II, and III, along with the corresponding laboratory. His scholarly output includes numerous peer-reviewed publications, with work appearing in journals such as Spectrochimica Acta Part A, Chemical Engineering Journal, and ACS Applied Bio Materials. As of recent records, his research has garnered over 2,500 citations. He also contributes to the academic community through roles such as editorial board member for Molecular Modeling Connect.
