Professor Mahesh Verma serves as Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. He is a prosthodontist who previously held the positions of Director-Principal and Dean at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences in New Delhi. He earned his BDS and MDS degrees specializing in prosthodontics from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, completed advanced training in prosthodontics at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and obtained an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Delhi. He also holds a Ph.D. from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University along with honorary doctorates.
Professor Verma has received numerous honors including the Padma Shri award in 2014, the Dr. B.C. Roy Award, and the National Science and Technology Award. He is a Professor of Prosthodontics with extensive publications in the field of dentistry. His professional appointments have included leadership roles in national dental organizations such as past president of the Indian Dental Association and the Indian Prosthodontic Society.
