About Mahmoud

Prof. Mahmoud Al Qutayri is the Associate Provost for Academic Operations at Khalifa University and Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is also affiliated with the Khalifa University System-on-Chip Center. Dr. Al Qutayri has extensive experience in engineering education at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Prior to his current role, he worked at Etisalat College of Engineering, De Montfort University in the UK, the University of Bath in the UK, and for a short period at Philips Semiconductors in Southampton, UK. He has authored or co-authored numerous technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He co-authored the book Digital Phase Lock Loops: Architectures and Applications and edited the book Smart Home Systems, in addition to contributing book chapters and holding patents.

His research interests include embedded systems and computer architecture, in-memory computing and emerging memory technologies, energy-efficient IoTs, efficient edge computing and artificial intelligence hardware implementation, mixed-signal integrated circuits, and wireless sensor networks. Dr. Al Qutayri serves on editorial boards of journals and has been a member of steering, organizing, and technical program committees for international conferences including GLOBECOM, ICIP, ICECS, ISSPA, and MWCAS. He earned a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath in 1992, an MSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester in 1987, and a BEng in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University in 1984.
