Rate My Professor Mieko Tashiro

Mieko Tashiro serves as Vice President of Saitama University and Professor in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. She is Director of the Center for Gender, Diversity and Inclusion. Tashiro has led university efforts in gender equality since the establishment of the Saitama University Gender Equality Office in 2009. She has overseen the transition and expansion of diversity initiatives, including the reorganization into the Center for Gender, Diversity and Inclusion in 2022, and the development of Japan's first diversity studies program.

Tashiro conducts research into gender and sexuality issues in education and serves as an instructor in the diversity studies program. Her work addresses topics such as gender equality and multicultural coexistence.
