Minli Yang is a professor in the College of Engineering at China Agricultural University and serves as Director of the China Research Center for Agricultural Mechanization. She is the leading professor in the Agricultural Engineering field at the university and holds the position of Chairman of the Agricultural Mechanization Branch of the Chinese Society for Agricultural Machinery. Her research focuses on rural development and agricultural mechanization, including systematic evaluation of crop mechanized production modes, agricultural machinery informatization and big data analysis, and the development of agricultural machinery service cooperatives and related industries. She has established close cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, particularly Brazil, Argentina, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Turkey, and the African Union.
Yang has received recognition as one of the Top 10 Heroines in the China Agricultural Machinery Industry in 2007. She has won eight provincial and ministerial science and technology achievement awards along with multiple individual achievement awards. She is an expert with special government allowance from the State Council of China. Yang also serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the Expert Steering Group for Whole-process Mechanization of Crop Production under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China and as Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Machinery.
