Dr. Mohamed Amine Ferrag is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Network Engineering at United Arab Emirates University. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in 2008, Master’s degree in 2010, Ph.D. in 2014, and Habilitation in 2019, all in Computer Science from Badji Mokhtar—Annaba University in Algeria. Prior to joining UAEU in 2025, he served as an Associate Professor at Guelma University from 2014 to 2022, as a Senior Researcher at the NAU-Lincoln Joint Research Center at Nanjing Agricultural University in China from 2019 to 2022, and as Lead Researcher at the Technology Innovation Institute in Abu Dhabi from 2022 to 2024.
His research focuses on cybersecurity topics including wireless network security, applied cryptography, blockchain technology, generative AI, large language models, and AI-driven software security. He has authored or co-authored over 200 papers with more than 16,700 citations and an h-index of 61. Dr. Ferrag has created widely used cybersecurity datasets such as Edge-IIoT, FormAI, CyberMetric, and DIA. He has been recognized as a Stanford top 2% scientist from 2020 to 2024 and as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher in 2025.
