Professor Mohammad AlKhedher serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Abu Dhabi University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, awarded in 1998. He earned a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from Washington State University in 2004 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. With over 19 years of academic and professional experience, Professor AlKhedher has held his current leadership position at Abu Dhabi University, where he contributes to the development of programs including the BSc in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering.

His research specializations center on mechatronics, with emphasis on the modeling, simulation, and control of mechatronic systems, state-based monitoring of machines, and the application of artificial intelligence in engineering contexts. Additional interests include battery thermal management, energy storage, and intelligent systems. Professor AlKhedher maintains professional affiliations as a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). He has authored publications such as the 2012 arXiv preprint on hybrid GPS-GSM localization of automobile tracking systems and the 2024 paper on a real-time IoT-powered AI system for monitoring and forecasting air pollution in industrial environments. In his role, he leads initiatives in the Research Centre for Energy Storage and Electrification and supports student achievements in engineering competitions.
