Rate My Professor Muhammad Shujahat

Muhammad Shujahat is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) of Business and Management at the University of Essex, a position he has held since October 2022. He completed his PhD at the University of Hong Kong in July 2022, following an MS in Management Science (2017) and a BS in Business Administration (2015), both from COMSATS University Islamabad (Attock Campus). His research sits at the intersection of Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviours, and Knowledge Management, with a current focus on enhancing employee sustainable well-being and performance through the design of managerial practices such as work design.

Shujahat has published in journals including the Human Resource Management Journal, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Research, and Technovation. Several of his papers have received distinctions such as Web of Science ESI Top 1% Highly Cited Articles and the Journal’s Most Downloaded Articles in a year, and his work has been featured in the European Union’s 2020 Innovation Policy Report. He has served as PI and Co-I on grants totalling more than 100,000 USD. He is co-first Guest Editor of a special issue in The International Journal of Human Resource Management and serves as Executive Editor of Knowledge Management & E-Learning, as well as on editorial advisory boards for Management Decision, the Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, and the International Journal of HRD: Practice, Policy & Research. He received the Advance HE Fellowship in February 2024 and was recognized as a Student-Nominated Most Inspiring Teacher in 2023. He is an Academic Member of the Assessor College of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Early-career Researchers Representative for his Group at Essex Business School. He has delivered invited guest talks at institutions including Universitas Negeri Malang, the University of Wah, and COMSATS University Islamabad.
