Natalie Pang, also known as Lee San Natalie Pang, is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Communications and New Media in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the National University of Singapore. She concurrently serves as University Librarian at NUS Libraries. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy from Monash University in Australia. Her research focuses on the intersection of technology and society, with projects organized under the themes of digital citizenship, digital equity and well-being, digital humanities, and data cultures in smart cities. This work encompasses socio-technical studies of technology, including social media and civil society, as well as the convergence of data and immersive technologies in the contexts of culture and heritage in urban cities. Her research is primarily based in Singapore but has also included studies from Indonesia and China. In addition to her academic and library roles, she serves as an ExCo Member of the Singapore Heritage Society and as a Board Member of the Southeast Asian Cultural Heritage Alliance. As an educator, she has mentored and supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate students as well as teaching assistants. She received a Commendation for Meritorious Teaching in 2007 from Monash University and has been nominated for the John Cheung Social Media in Teaching Award in 2016 and the Nanyang Education Award in 2015 and 2014. She previously held positions including Senior Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies.
