About Pascale

Professor Pascale Quester is Vice-Chancellor and President of Swinburne University of Technology, a position she has held since August 2020. Prior to joining Swinburne, she served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and President (Academic) at the University of Adelaide from 2011 to 2020. Her earlier roles at the University of Adelaide included Executive Dean of the Faculty of the Professions from 2006 to 2011, Associate Dean of Research for the Faculty of the Professions from 2001 to 2006, and inaugural Professor of Marketing in the Adelaide Business School from 2001 to 2020. Professor Quester holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from France, a Master of Arts in Marketing from Ohio State University in the United States, and a PhD from Massey University in New Zealand. She is an active researcher in the areas of consumer behaviour and marketing communications and has co-authored leading Australian textbooks on consumer behaviour. Her contributions to higher education have been recognised with several honours, including appointment as an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2026 Australia Day Honours, the Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite from France in 2023, the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite in 2012, election as a Distinguished Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy in 2009, and the title of Professeur des Universités from France in 2007. She has also held visiting professorial appointments at institutions including La Sorbonne, Paris II, ESSEC Business School, and the University of Nancy in France.
