About Paul

Paul M. Healy is the James R. Williston Professor of Business Administration, Emeritus at Harvard Business School. He joined the HBS faculty in 1998 after serving for fourteen years on the faculty at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he received awards for teaching excellence in 1991, 1992, and 1997. He earned degrees in accounting and finance from Victoria University in New Zealand in 1976 and 1977, respectively, and received a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in 1981.

His research covers a broad range of topics, including white collar crime, governance, business ethics, financial analysis, and Wall Street research. Healy has published widely in leading academic and practitioner journals and has received numerous research awards. He is the co-author of one of the leading financial analysis textbooks and has taught MBA and executive courses on accounting, financial analysis, corporate boards, and ethical leadership. Among his books are multiple editions of Business Analysis and Valuation: Using Financial Statements, co-authored with Krishna G. Palepu and others. He has also co-authored Wall Street Research: Past, Present, and Future with Boris Groysberg.
