Dr Paul Joyce is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences within the College of Health at the University of Adelaide. He serves as Head of the Translational Nanomedicine & Biotherapeutics Group at the University of South Australia. His research focuses on harnessing drug delivery approaches to transform therapeutic outcomes across diseases including cancer, mental health, and antimicrobial resistance. Working at the interface of materials science and drug development, Dr Joyce engages with pharmaceutical industry stakeholders, clinicians, and health consumers to enable clinical and commercial translation of his work.
Dr Joyce has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in leading international journals, three book chapters, and holds three granted international patents for novel nanomedicine inventions. He is a Director of the Australian Controlled Release Society and has secured over $9 million in research funding, including roles as a Hospital Research Foundation Fellow and Cancer Council SA Fellow. His teaching strengths include biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, and colloid and interface science.
