Pellegrino Piantadosi is a Post-Doctoral Associate at New York University Abu Dhabi. He earned his PhD from the University of Bologna in the Department of Physics and Astronomy in 2025 and his master’s degree from the University of Naples between 2019 and 2021.
His research focuses on applications of artificial intelligence to particle physics. In collaboration with colleagues, he co-authored the 2026 paper “Rediscovering the Standard Model with AI,” which explores whether machine learning techniques can autonomously recover known structures of the Standard Model using experimental data from the 1950s and 1960s. He has also contributed to work on the landscape of type IIB flux vacua. Piantadosi has presented his research in seminars and webinars on topics including AI rediscovery of particle physics principles.
