Pieter Cohen, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a general internist at Cambridge Health Alliance in Somerville, Massachusetts. He graduated from Yale University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at The Cambridge Hospital. Dr. Cohen practices internal medicine with a focus on primary care and maintains board certification in internal medicine. He is fluent in English and Portuguese and provides care to a diverse patient population, including a large community of Brazilian immigrants.
Dr. Cohen leads the Supplement Research Program at Cambridge Health Alliance, where he has investigated the safety and quality of dietary supplements for over 15 years. His work examines novel and experimental ingredients in supplements and their potential health risks. He also contributes to educational initiatives such as the “Updates in Slow Medicine” series and has clinical interests in Brazilian immigrant health and the management of outpatient COVID-19. Dr. Cohen has authored numerous publications on topics related to supplement safety and internal medicine.
