Rate My Professor Prajal Pradhan

Prajal Pradhan is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Groningen. He studied agricultural engineering and environmental management. Pradhan has received the ERC Starting Grant 2022. He serves as a coordinating lead author of the AR7 IPCC WG III Report and was a lead author of the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land as well as a contributing author of the AR6 IPCC WG III and AR6 IPCC WG II Reports. He is also a Visiting Scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany.

Pradhan is an expert in food systems, climate change, and sustainable development goals. His research focuses on understanding the necessary conditions for long-term sustainability, including achieving the SDGs, urban transformations, and climate resilience. He contributes to editorial work for journals including Regional Environmental Change and PLOS Climate. Pradhan has received awards such as the 2022 Sustainability Science Best Paper Award and the Outstanding Article Award 2022 of the Sustainability Science journal.
