About Rasal

Prof. Rasal Singh is a Professor in the Department of Hindi at Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi. He holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Hindi (2000) and an M.A. in Hindi (2002) from Hindu College, University of Delhi, along with an M.Phil. (2004) and Ph.D. (2009) from the Department of Hindi, University of Delhi. He earned gold medals at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and received several scholarships, including the UGC Junior Research Fellowship and All India Postgraduate Scholarship.

Prof. Singh began his academic career at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi, and later joined Kirori Mal College, where he progressed from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and then Professor. He has also served as Professor at the Central University of Jammu. His administrative roles include two terms as a member of the Academic Council of the University of Delhi (2017-19 and 2019-21), as well as positions such as Head of the Department, Dean of Languages, and Dean of Students’ Welfare at the Central University of Jammu. He has authored six books on literary criticism and contributed over two hundred articles and research papers to various newspapers and magazines. His areas of interest include Media Studies, Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Dalit Studies, and Hindi literature, encompassing Kavya-Shastra, Adhunik Kavita, Bhakti Kavya, and Hindi Katha Sahitya. He has supervised eight Ph.D. theses, completed four research projects, and developed numerous e-content modules and e-books for UGC and University of Delhi platforms. Prof. Singh has organized national seminars, workshops, and refresher courses, and holds memberships in various academic and professional bodies.
