Rate My Professor Raymond Ong

Raymond Ong, whose full name is Ong Ghim Ping Raymond, is a Dean's Chair Associate Professor and Deputy Head (Research and Enterprise) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also serves as Director (Operations) at the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore at NUS. Dr Ong graduated with a B.Eng (Civil) (First Class Honours) with a minor in Business from NUS in 2003 and obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering from NUS. He completed postdoctoral training at Purdue University before returning to NUS as a lecturer in 2010 and advancing to assistant professor in 2014.

His career at NUS includes appointments as Associate Professor with the Dean's Chair title. He has received several awards, including the Alfred Noble Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Quality and Standard Commendation Award from the Singapore Standards Council and Enterprise Singapore, and appointment as a Council Member of the Singapore Road Safety Council.
