Ricardo William Muotri earned a Master's degree and a Doctorate in Sciences from the Faculdade de Medicina at Universidade de São Paulo. His doctoral thesis, completed in 2018 within the Psychiatry program, examined physical exercise as exposure therapy in the treatment of panic disorder. He is a specialist in Adapted Physical Education and Health and has served as a professor of Physical Education.
