Rohinton Emmanuel is Professor of Sustainable Design and Construction at Glasgow Caledonian University. He has held this position for over two decades and previously served as Director of the Research Centre for Built Environment Asset Management. His academic background includes a BSc in Built Environment, an MSc in Architecture, and a PhD.
Emmanuel’s research focuses on urban climate, sustainable design, and construction, with particular emphasis on tropical and subtropical regions. He has authored or edited key publications including the book Urban Climate Challenges in the Tropics: Rethinking Planning and Design Opportunities (2016) and An Urban Approach to Climate-Sensitive Design: Strategies for the Tropics (2005). He maintains active international collaborations, including with researchers at the University of São Paulo.
