Professor Ronaldo Bragança Martins Júnior serves as Professor Doutor at the Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas de Ribeirão Preto (FCFRP) of the Universidade de São Paulo. He is affiliated with the Departamento de Análises Clínicas, Toxicológicas e Bromatológicas and coordinates the Laboratório de Imunopatogênese Viral (LIPV). His research focuses on the mechanisms of interaction between viruses and human cells, with particular emphasis on emerging viruses including Monkeypox, Oropouche, SARS-CoV-2, and rhinovirus. The work examines infection processes, inflammatory responses, metabolism, and viral persistence using cellular and tissue models. Additional efforts involve the development of antiviral strategies based on drug repurposing and mimetic nanoparticles, with a translational and biotechnological orientation.
