Dr. Samir K. Sinha is a Geriatrician and Clinician Scientist at Sinai Health System and the University Health Network in Toronto. He serves as Director of Health Policy Research at the National Institute on Ageing at Toronto Metropolitan University and holds professorships in Medicine at the University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A Rhodes Scholar, Dr. Sinha received his MD from Western University and completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of Toronto and Johns Hopkins. He also holds a Masters in Medical History and a DPhil in Sociology from the University of Oxford.
Dr. Sinha is an international expert in the care of older adults and the architect of the Government of Ontario’s Seniors Strategy. He has served on the Government of Canada’s National Seniors Council and Ministerial Advisory Board on Dementia, contributing to Canada’s National Dementia Strategy and leading the development of Canada’s new National Long-Term Care Services Standard. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and the American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Sinha has consulted for governments and health organizations worldwide and previously served as Director of Geriatrics for Sinai Health and the University Health Network. He is currently a 2024-2025 Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford and AMS Fellow in Compassion and AI.
