Dr Sarah Redicker is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Human Geography at the University of Exeter. She is an environmental social scientist whose work spans climate adaptation, water governance, migration, and rural development. She works at the intersection of development studies and human geography, applying socio-ecological systems thinking and using both quantitative and qualitative methods to tackle complex socio-environmental challenges. Currently, she contributes to two major research projects: SUCCESS funded by IDRC and FCDO, and CLAPS, funded by FCDO. These projects examine the dynamics of mobility and immobility in the context of climate change. This builds on earlier work with the HABITABLE project, funded by EU Horizon 2020.
Prior to joining Exeter, she completed her PhD in Development Policy and Management at the Global Development Institute, University of Manchester. Her doctoral research examined how irrigation development and adaptation strategies can mitigate the impacts of climate change on livelihoods and food insecurity among smallholder farmers in West Africa.
