Dr Sasha Maher is a Lecturer in Sustainability at the University of Auckland Business School. She holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology and Management from the University of Auckland. Prior to joining the Business School, she accumulated over ten years of industry experience in business development, policy, strategy, and sustainability roles. She has also served as climate change lead at the Environmental Defence Society, a policy think tank.
Her research interests centre on climate leadership, circularity and governance, and the interface between the public and private sectors in climate change politics. Current work examines climate risk disclosure and responsibility, along with related topics in risk, disclosure, and insurance. She is also an affiliate at Motu Economic and Public Policy Research, where she collaborates on environmental issues.
