Rate My Professor Tankiso Moloi

Professor Tankiso Moloi serves as Executive Dean of the College of Business and Economics at the University of Johannesburg. He is a professor of accounting with research interests focused on risk management, strategy, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. His broader academic interests include digital finance, corporate governance, and financial and non-financial reporting. Moloi holds a Doctor of Business Administration (2025), a Ph.D. in Finance (2014), a Master of Commerce in Accounting (2009), a Master of Science in Financial Management (2008), a Master of Arts in International Relations and World Order (2018), postgraduate programs in artificial intelligence in machine learning (2022) and data science and business analytics (2022), a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accounting (2005), and a Bachelor of Commerce (2003). He also holds professional qualifications as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Prior to his current role, Moloi held various positions in the finance, mining, and higher education sectors, including leadership appointments at the University of Johannesburg such as Head of the Department of Accountancy and roles at the Johannesburg Business School. He has supervised numerous doctoral and master’s students and has secured grants for research and skills development. Moloi has received several industry awards in recognition of his contributions.
