Tarcísio Augusto Alves da Silva is a professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE). He holds a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Rural Sociology from UFRPE (2001), a master's degree in Social Work from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), and a doctorate in Sociology from UFPE. His research focuses on rural configurations and their subjects, youth, socio-environmental conflicts, and the impacts of wind energy production.
