About Tayyaba

Dr Tayyaba Khurram is an IODP Technician at the University of Leicester within the School of Geography, Geology and the Environment and the International Ocean Discovery Programme (IODP). She holds a PhD in petrophysics, with research focused on evaluating and improving petrophysical models and extending rock-physics relationships, particularly concerning organic shales and unconventional reservoirs. Her background is in earth sciences and geophysics. In her role, she is part of a team engaged in the acquisition and analysis of core petrophysical and borehole measurement data for IODP expeditions and other research drilling programmes, providing support in planning, acquisition, and interpretation of downhole logging data and core petrophysics data as part of the ECORD Science Operator.

She gained the status of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) through the experiential route while at the University of Leicester. Her contributions include participation in scientific expeditions involving sample analysis for mineralogy and related studies.
