Professor Te Kawehau Hoskins is Pro Vice-Chancellor Māori at the University of Auckland, a position she has held since 2021. She is also Associate Professor in Te Puna Wānanga, the School of Māori and Indigenous Education within the Faculty of Education and Social Work. Previously, she served as Deputy Dean and Te Tumu (Dean, Māori) at the same faculty, as well as senior lecturer at Te Puna Wānanga. Hoskins holds a PhD in Indigenous Studies, a Master of Education with First Class Honours, and a Bachelor of Arts in Māori Studies and Education, all from the University of Auckland. She also holds a Level 7 Diploma in Te Reo Kairangi from Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Her research interests centre on indigenous-Māori political philosophy, the politics and ethics of indigenous-settler relations, and the Treaty of Waitangi (Te Tiriti) in educational governance and policy. Hoskins is of Ngāti Hau and Ngāpuhi descent.
