Thiago Gechel Kloss is Professor Adjunto 1C in the Department of General Biology at Universidade Federal de Viçosa, where he coordinates the Laboratory of Ecology and Behavior (LABECOM). He earned a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (bacharelado and licenciatura) from Escola Superior São Francisco de Assis in 2008, a master's degree in Plant Production with emphasis in Entomology from Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo in 2011, and a doctorate in Entomology from the Graduate Program in Entomology at Universidade Federal de Viçosa in 2015. Prior to his current appointment, he served as a researcher in the CNPq-FAPES Regional Scientific and Technological Development Program at Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo from 2016 to 2017 and as a level VI professor at Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais from 2017 to 2021, teaching in the areas of Invertebrate Zoology and Animal Behavior.

His research focuses on zoology, particularly interactions between spiders and their natural enemies, as well as the effects of natural and anthropogenic factors on arthropod communities in tropical environments. He is a permanent member of the advising faculty for the Graduate Programs in Entomology and in Ecology at Universidade Federal de Viçosa. His research lines include the ecology of parasitoid insects, parasitoid-host interactions, and behavioral ecology.
