About Xiaosong

Xiaosong Wang is a professor in the School of Economics at Renmin University of China. He earned a Bachelor of Economics, a Master of Economics, and a Doctor of Economics, all from the Department of International Economics and Trade at Nankai University, completing his PhD in 2010. Wang joined Renmin University of China in 2010 as a lecturer in the School of Economics, was promoted to associate professor in 2013, and has served as full professor since 2017. He was a visiting scholar in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Davis from 2015 to 2016. His research focuses on international trade theory and the theoretical and empirical analysis of international trade policy, with particular emphasis on the political economy of trade policy and international political economy.

Wang is a doctoral supervisor and serves as a researcher at the National Academy of Development and Strategy at Renmin University of China. He is a recipient of the National Ten Thousand Talents Program Young Top Talent award and has received the second prize of the Youth Science Award. He holds editorial board positions with journals including Applied Economics Review, Renmin University Reprints (International Trade Studies), and International Trade. Wang also serves as a reviewer for numerous domestic and international journals and funding agencies such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Fund of China. He is a council member of the Chinese Association of Quantitative Economics and the China Society of World Economics.
