Rate My Professor Yibin Ying

Yibin Ying is a professor and doctoral supervisor in the College of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science at Zhejiang University. He earned his bachelor's degree from the Department of Agricultural Machinery Engineering at Jiangsu University of Technology in 1984 and his Ph.D. from the College of Engineering at Northeast Agricultural University in 1999. His research focuses on nondestructive sensing technology and intelligent equipment for quality and safety evaluation of agro-products, as well as agricultural robotics.

Throughout his career, Ying has held numerous administrative positions at Zhejiang University, including various deanships in engineering and food science colleges, deputy director roles in the Faculty of Agriculture, Life and Environment, and service as vice president from 2015. He also served as president of Zhejiang A&F University from 2017 to 2020. Ying has received several honors, including election as an academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2018, the International Academy of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering in 2020, and the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences in 2021. He was named a Qiushi Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University and inducted as an ASABE Fellow in 2020. He maintains an active research profile with hundreds of publications in his field.
