About Yogesh

Professor Yogesh Singh is the 23rd Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi, having assumed office on 8 October 2021. He earned his Ph.D. in computer engineering and M.Tech. in electronics and communication engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra. Singh became a full Professor of Computer Engineering at the age of 35 in the University School of Information and Communication Technology at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Prior to his current role, he served as the third Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Technological University from 14 July 2016 to 7 October 2021, including a second term. He previously held the position of Vice-Chancellor at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda from July 2011 to July 2014. At Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, he served in multiple administrative capacities, including Dean of the University School of Engineering and Technology (2001-2006), Dean of the University School of Information and Communication Technology (2001-2006), Chief Warden (2001-2009), Proctor (2001-2006), Director of Student Welfare (2006-2009), and Controller of Examinations (2006-2011).

Throughout his career, Singh has demonstrated extensive leadership in higher education administration across technology-focused and multi-faculty institutions. His academic foundation in computer engineering has informed his contributions to engineering and technology education in India. Singh is recognized for his experience leading large academic institutions with diverse student populations and for his focus on institutional growth and development.
