Rate My Professor YP Verma

Prof. Yajvender Pal Verma is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, Chandigarh. He holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (2000), an M.E. in Power Systems from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh (2002), and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (2015). His research specializations include renewable energy integration, wind power, microgrid operation, congestion management, and demand side management. He has served as the first Coordinator of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at UIET from 2004 to 2014 and has held various administrative positions, including NSS Program Coordinator at Panjab University. Since May 2022, he has been serving as Registrar of Panjab University, overseeing key functions such as NAAC accreditation, recruitment processes, and university governance.

Prof. Verma has an extensive publication record in international journals and conferences, with contributions on topics including microgrid systems, energy storage, frequency regulation, and renewable energy policies. He holds a patent for energy harvesting footwear granted in 2021. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and has guided multiple doctoral theses on virtual inertia emulation, intelligent controllers for renewable systems, and biomass-based microgrids.
