Yumna Williams-Mohamed is a Senior Lecturer and registrar in the Division of Occupational Medicine at the University of Cape Town. Her research focuses on occupational health issues, including mortality rates among former asbestos miners and occupational asthma cases such as baker's asthma.
She led a study published in 2026 evaluating mortality rates and their determinants in a cohort of former asbestos miners in South Africa, which formed the basis of her MMed dissertation. In 2023, she authored work on baker's allergy and asthma in an industrial bakery setting. Williams-Mohamed has presented clinical cases in occupational medicine webinars at UCT.
