About Zhongqun

Zhongqun Tian is a professor in the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University. He earned his B.S. degree from Xiamen University in 1982 and his Ph.D. from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom in 1987. He joined the faculty at Xiamen University as a professor in 1992 and has served as director of the Fujian Innovation Laboratory of Energy and Materials Science and Technology since 2019. He is affiliated with the State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces and the Department of Chemistry.

Tian is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, elected in 2005. He previously served as president of the International Society of Electrochemistry from 2019 to 2020 and as a member of its executive committee from 2017 to 2022. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (elected 2005), a fellow of the International Society of Electrochemistry (elected 2010), and a fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (elected 2014). His research focuses on physical chemistry, with emphasis on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), spectroelectrochemistry, plasmonics, nanochemistry, and molecular catassembly. He has authored or co-authored over 850 peer-reviewed papers, with an h-index of 107, along with seven chapters in encyclopedias and books and two books. Tian has received the Raman Lifetime Award and other honors for his contributions to electrochemistry and related fields.
