Dr. Zilong Zhong is a Postdoctoral Fellow at McMaster University in the School of Earth, Environment & Society. He received his Ph.D. in Machine Learning and Intelligence from the University of Waterloo, with prior academic training in Electronic Engineering.
Dr. Zhong is a McCall MacBain Postdoctoral Fellow. His research focuses on high-resolution forest biomass mapping for Canada’s forested ecosystems using computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms applied to optical, LiDAR, and SAR satellite remote sensing data. His work contributes to understanding the terrestrial carbon cycle through remote sensing and machine learning approaches.
