Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant

Position Summary

The Dyson Wellness Center Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant will provide primary health care to students, employees, and family members of employees with an emphasis on clinical care, wellness, health education and health promotion.

Description of Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver high-quality health care to students, employees, and family members ages three to twenty-six within the State of Illinois APN guidelines and the scope of practice of the Dyson Wellness Center.
2. Provide clinical and professional supervision to the nursing staff.
3. Maintain precise, confidential and timely electronic medical records.
4. Oversee the patient flow in the Dyson Wellness Center.
5. Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of medical staff.
6. Maintain relationship with Edward Hospital, Urgent Care and/or other medical providers to facilitate referrals and discounted rates for students.
7. Collaborate with other campus employees in emergency and educational efforts.
8. Represent the Dyson Wellness Center at various campus events.
9. Remain current on health issues.
10. Independently manage client appointments from intake to discharge.
11. Administrative duties such as ordering supplies when needed, pulling statistics, attending meetings, managing email, updating documents, work on committees and planning health education programs.
