Description
The Division of Life Science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) seeks outstanding candidates for faculty positions in Aging and Age-Related Diseases, a strategic focus that brings together expertise from multiple disciplines to address the biological mechanisms of aging and their links to disease. The Division offers a highly collaborative environment with strong support for interdisciplinary and translational research.
We welcome applications from candidates working across molecular to systems-level studies of aging. Areas of particular interest include:
- Biological mechanisms of aging and longevity
- Age-associated diseases, including neurodegenerative, metabolic, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal disorders
- Integrative approaches spanning cellular, organismal, and systems biology
The Division is recruiting multiple tenure-track and tenured faculty members to advance its mission of understanding the mechanisms underlying human health and disease through both basic and translational research. Outstanding candidates at both junior and senior levels will be considered. Successful applicants are expected to establish independent, internationally competitive research programs and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Division of Life Science
The Division of Life Science has established strengths across seven thematic areas: (i) Neuroscience and Nervous System Disorders, (ii) Cancer Biology, (iii) Cell Biology and Signaling, (iv) Stem Cell and Developmental Biology, (v) Macromolecular Structure and Function, (vi) Biotechnology and Medicinal Biochemistry, and (vii) Genomics and Epigenomics. These interconnected themes foster extensive cross-disciplinary collaboration across the life sciences.
Faculty members are internationally recognized, and the Division is supported by world-class research infrastructure at HKUST, including the Biosciences Central Research Facility, the Biological Cryo-EM Center, the Laboratory Animal Facility, and a state-of-the-art AI Supercomputing Facility. The Division also offers vibrant postgraduate programs and strong global and industry partnerships.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
A Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree
Completion of postdoctoral training
Demonstrated potential to lead an independent, externally funded research program
