The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to serve as the Director of the Cardiac Cross-sectional Imaging Program with an anticipated start date of November 2026.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).
General expectations as Director:
- Provide excellent communication and team management to collaborate with physicians, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Develop a national reputation in both clinical excellence and research in the field of cross-sectional imaging.
- Develop expertise in research methods as well as a successful research career and mentor faculty and trainees in scholarly work.
- Ensures the accuracy, quality, and appropriateness of all cardiac CT/MRI procedures and images.
- Lead initiatives to improve cardiac CT/MRI performance, implement new processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop strategic plans for the cardiac CT/MRI program in collaboration with the division of cardiology, heart center, radiology and hospital.
- Supervise, mentor, and train a multidisciplinary team of physicians, trainees and administrative staff.
General expectations for non-invasive imaging:
- Engage in clinical activities in a wide range of non-invasive cardiac imaging modalities.
- Perform and interpret imaging and physiologic data needed to understand underlying pre and postoperative simple and complex cardiac congenital pathologies in neonates, and children.
- Serves as an attending physician in the Echocardiography Laboratory at Seattle Children's Hospital.
Qualifications
- Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
- Must have completed pediatric residency and a categorical fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology.
- Completion of a 4th year advanced imaging fellowship training is required.
- Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Pediatric Cardiology.
- Must be currently licensed as a physician or eligible for licensure as a physician in Washington state.
